Here's a piece of work I'm offering up for sale. It's the original black & white line art (left image) featuring Judge Dredd which I drew for issue (Prog) 1333 of 2000ad. I've recently found the preliminary sketches I produced for the cover, so they'll also be included in the sale.
The artwork is A3 size (420 x 297 mm) and was drawn on Daler/Cliff Robinsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15906937883826759904noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3022181160569501181.post-42128864461185056002012-03-19T14:09:00.000+00:002012-03-19T14:09:28.615+00:00Dredd: "Get bidding now, Creeps!"It's the last day of the auction, folks, but it's not too late to make that winning bid and make my impending 50th birthday even happier. I told him it was okay to go ahead. Here is the finished CG model.

It was mainly a test page to see if I could colour my line art using watercolour paint on unstretched cartridge paper. The paper crinkled up too much and I abandoned the page, although I still like the idea of Dredd battling with crazed mutated Teletubbies. Of course It's an image you'll never see in the pages of 2000AD, as I'm sure Cliff Robinsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15906937883826759904noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3022181160569501181.post-26907408176910897042010-04-02T23:02:00.001+01:002010-04-02T23:04:58.745+01:00Another commissionCliff Robinsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15906937883826759904noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3022181160569501181.post-20721280576592057412010-03-12T09:36:00.000+00:002010-03-12T09:36:05.896+00:00CommissionsThe Captain Britain cover was drawn over a year ago and the 2000AD cover re-creation was finished just this week.Cliff Robinsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15906937883826759904noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3022181160569501181.post-25545519368490162932010-02-08T09:55:00.010+00:002010-04-06T10:25:36.862+01:00Fahrenheit 1671Here is my cover artwork for the last episode of the Dragon's Den story (as drawn by the truly zarjaz artdroid, P.J. I've made Boston Brand's head a little smaller on the right hand side duplicate sketch. Looks better to me. I think I may have made 'White Tack Man's' model head too large in the first place. Where's my scalpel and sandpaper? "NO, MASTER, DON'T DO IT, I BEG YOU, PLEASE, NO, NOOOAAAARGH!!!"

Apologies for not posting for a while.
I'm going to try and post up something new at least once a week from now on (have I said that before?) Here's a couple of very rough sketches drawn from my Plasticine/white tack man. Stop laughing.
Oh, for Batman's head (on the drawing below the photo's) I had to reference some Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez art as my original sketch of the Dark Knight's face Cliff Robinsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15906937883826759904noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3022181160569501181.post-732223322295293312009-08-29T16:51:00.011+01:002010-01-15T14:58:49.127+00:00The triumphant return of Mr. Plasticine!
...Okay, so Mr. Plasticine still has a hand and part of his left leg missing, but he was still useful for drawing these figures which feature in a new Dredd strip I'm currently working on. Some comic artists can draw pretty damn good figures without using any kind of reference, but sadly I'm not one of them. As I didn't sculpt Mr. P's head, can anyone recognize where I purloined it from? PS. I've had to post this picture up a second time as the first file was too large (which as a consequence had sent the sidebar to the bottom of the page!) Apologies to Mr. Levell. Sorry, Kevin, your kind comment was deleted when I had to replace the post. I now realise I could have just edited the original post, but hey, it's me!
